This recipe is very versatile and can be used in many cuisines.  This does NOT require heat - the konbu just needs to soak for 24 hours to ensure the best results.

Ingredients
4 cups water
½ ounce konbu (from Konbu Doi, Uneno or Aimono)

Method
Combine the water and konbu in a bowl or plastic container and let sit for 24 hours. Remove konbu, use immediately or refrigerate. This will last for up to 3 days in your refrigerator.
