Trusted by professional chefs in Japan for years!
These serving chopsticks are lightweight and have thin tips, making them very easy to use. At 30 cm long, they’re ideal for plating and serving—both at home and in professional kitchens. The lacquer finish resists water, oil, stains, and odors, making them very durable.
Yamachiku use only locally-grown and sustainably-harvested Moso bamboo from Kumamoto and Fukuoka—a thick, fast-growing variety that can reach 20 meters (65 ft) in just six months but must mature for 3–5 years to be strong enough for their chopsticks.
The chopstick-making process involves 30 steps, taking 40 days for hand-painted chopsticks and 80 days for lacquered ones. Yamachiku handles everything from forest to finished chopstick.
