Sansho - 4g

Sansho is one of the oldest spices in human history, often called Japanese pepper or prickly ash. This product from Yamatsu Tsujita has all of the hallmarks - a bright, citrus-y aroma, it makes your mouth water and your tongue & lips mildly numb. But what makes it special is that it is a delicate blend of three varieties of sansho: Yamaasakura, Asakura and Budo. This produces a depth of flavor that shines through it all. It pairs really well with grilled meats, BBQ eel, scallops, etc.

New smaller size: due to very low harvests last season, sansho is in very short supply. Hence the change to 4g packages (previously 8g).

Keep in freezer when not using to preserve freshness.
