Working with a craftsman in Oita Prefecture, Matsuda-san has designed the perfect chopsticks for cooking and serving. We love them for many reasons. First, they're a fine length at 12⅔". This means they both keep your hands away from the heat while cooking and make serving across the table easy. Second, they're made from Soot Bamboo, which means they are more durable than regular bamboo. This also allows the craftsmen to make very fine yet strong tips at the end of the chopsticks. Finally, they are light weight and the small indentations near the top of each chopstick make them easy to use for a long time.
Product Details:

What follows are Jizai Dougu’s Care and Usage Instructions translated from the original Japanese:
These chopsticks are made of soot bamboo, ideal for cooking and serving food.
They are thin and durable, and the slightly concave parts provide a comfortable grip.
Handling Notes
- Not dishwasher safe.
- When washing, avoid using hard materials such as scrubbing brushes and use a soft sponge.
- Do not dry in direct sunlight, as this may cause the bamboo to warp or deform.
- After washing, wipe off any moisture thoroughly and dry in the shade in a well-ventilated area.
