Kido-san hikes into the countryside of Kagoshima to dig the clay used to create these handcrafted plates. To cement the connection to the land, Kido-san stamps into the back of the plate the latitude & longitude of where he harvests the clay. The firing method used by Kido-san for these pieces yields a slight bluish hue to the off-white glaze and creates a random pattern of spots on the surface.
The large plate, at approximately 10.7 inches in diameter, is perfect as a dinner plate.
The medium plate, at approximately 8.25 inches in diameter, is perfect as a salad or dessert plate.
