From One Kiln studio in Kagoshima come these beautiful bowls. Into the clay Kido-san mixes volcanic ash from the local active volcano called Sakurajima. This gives these bowls a wonderful dark color with iridescent highlights. The insides are finished with a white glaze and the line between the glaze and the ash used on the outside yields a bluish-green halo.
These bowls come in three sizes - large, small and extra small.
The large bowl is big enough for a hearty donburi or lunchtime salad.
We love using the small bowl for soup, morning yogurt or granola.
The extra small bowl is perfect for small servings of Japanese pickles.
- The large bowl is approximately 6 ½ inches in diameter and 2.7 inches tall
- The small bowl is approximately 5 ½ inches in diameter and 2.3 inches tall
- The extra small bowl is approximately 3.3 inches in diameter and 1.2 inches tall
- Please wash by hand with mild soap and water
