  • From One Kiln Studio in Kagoshima come these beautiful handcrafted bowls. Kido-san incorporates volcanic ash from nearby Sakurajima, one of Japan’s most active volcanoes, into the clay, giving the exterior a rich, dark tone with subtle iridescent highlights.

    The Ash style carries the same deep, earthy tone throughout the interior.

    The Blue style features a vibrant blue interior glaze, with a subtle green line appearing where the glaze meets the volcanic ash.

    The White style is finished with a warm, cream-colored interior glaze, with a soft bluish-green halo where it meets the volcanic ash.

    Available in four sizes, each suited to a variety of everyday uses:

    • Extra Small: Perfect for Japanese pickles, condiments, or small bites. Approx. 3.35" D × 1.2" H (85 × 30 mm)
    • Small: Ideal for side dishes or desserts. Approx. 4.35" D × 1.95" H (110 × 50 mm)
    • Medium: Just right for soups, yogurt, or morning granola. Approx. 5.5" D × 2.35" H (140 × 60 mm)
    • Large: Generously sized for donburi, noodles, or a lunchtime salad. Approx. 6.5" D × 2.75" H (165 × 70 mm)
    • Hand wash with mild soap and water
