Kido-san hikes into the countryside of Kagoshima to dig the clay used to create this handcrafted platter. To cement the connection to the land, Kido-san stamps into the back of the plate the latitude & longitude of where he harvests the clay. The firing method used by Kido-san for this piece yields a slight bluish hue to the off-white glaze and creates a random pattern of spots on the surface.
