From One Kiln studio in Kagoshima come these beautiful bowls. Into the clay Kido-san mixes volcanic ash from the local active volcano called Sakurajima. This gives these bowls a wonderful dark color with iridescent highlights. The insides are finished with a white glaze and the line between the glaze and the ash used on the outside yields a bluish-green halo.
These bowls come in three sizes - large, small and extra small.
The large bowl is big enough for a hearty donburi or lunchtime salad.
We love using the small bowl for soup, morning yogurt or granola.
The extra small bowl is perfect for small servings of Japanese pickles.
The large bowl is approximately 6 ½ inches in diameter and 2.7 inches tall
The small bowl is approximately 5 ½ inches in diameter and 2.3 inches tall
The extra small bowl is approximately 3.3 inches in diameter and 1.2 inches tall
Please wash by hand with mild soap and water
