We are excited to partner with Sonoko Sakai on this ingredient kit for her new cookbook, Wafu Cooking: Everyday Recipes with Japanese Style. Writing recipes with the theme "Wafu" (meaning "Japanese style"), Sonoko showcases dishes that deftly combine global and Japanese flavors. For example, she uses miso, mirin, and dashi as secret umami boosters in her Bolognese Sauce recipe. And her French Onion Soup includes not only a touch of soy sauce, but also toasted mochi. In every recipe we have tried, we have loved the blending of flavors and styles.
She hand-selected each ingredient in this kit to help you cook through her new cookbook, Wafu Cooking: Everyday Recipes with Japanese Style. For example, the Rokko Miso Aka (Red) Miso can be used in so many of Sonoko's recipes, including Miso Apple Pie on page 281. And Kagura no Sato's Premium Organic Yuzu Kosho sounds great in the Roasted Cauliflower with Yuzu Kosho, Garlic, and Vinegar recipe on page 121. Or how about using Iio Jozo's Pure Rice Vinegar for the Baby Turnip, Apricot, and Chili Pickle on page 145? Natrually the Murakami Syouten Okinawan Sugar is exactly what you need for the Kokuto Syrup recipe on page 293.
And don't forget, buying as an ingredient box gets you both a 10% discount and free shipping!
